Dear Brothers,
This past semester has been a busy semester for SigEp Ohio Iota. The brothers hit the ground running by hosting a SigEp Sundae fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Ohio. This is a foundation that helps youth with mentoring to help them realize their potential to impact the world. The fundraiser had a huge turnout and was a massive success.
The brothers teamed up with Alpha Xi Delta to help with the Pet Bull Project, a project dedicated to preventing animal cruelty, educating people about proper pet ownership, and training people to be good owners. We went to the shelter and helped organize their inventory and small tasks around the shelter. We had a great time helping the Pet Bull Project.
Formal recruitment was a great success, with 18 new members recruited into the chapter. The chapter is very excited that these men have chosen Ohio Iota. These 18 new members join a thriving community of balanced men pushing each other to become better.
With it being the University of Toledo’s 150th anniversary, we were all looking forward to homecoming. We partnered with the lovely ladies of Alpha Xi Delta for the theme of “Throughout the Decades.” The week before the homecoming parade brought the brothers closer working late nights on building the float, and in the end, our float took home 2nd place.
The brother hosted SigEp Sliders, a fundraiser for Cherry Street Mission. A foundation in which they envision a day where everyone has access to every opportunity to move toward a life full of health and wholeness. The SigEp Sliders was a smashing success in which many people were able to come out and enjoy sliders and mac & cheese with the money from the ticket sales supporting a good cause.
This semester has been a successful semester for SigEp Ohio Iota, in which we supported our local foundations, brought the brothers closer, and recruited new brothers. We are all looking forward to the spring semester.
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!
