Dear Brothers,
The month of October was both busy and exciting for Sigma Phi Epsilon. We had numerous memorable events throughout the month including our annual Homecoming ceremony that Sigma Phi Epsilon had the honor to partake in and putting on a Haunted House Event to celebrate Halloween and raise money for charity. First, however, the 365 recruitment is an important strategy that remains extremely vital to the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity here at the University of Toledo. 365 recruitment is a model that highlights different strategies to recruit potential new members throughout the year, including the summer. This month, our brothers have worked diligently to organize events such as a Pickle Ball event to bring out potential new members that have an interest in our fraternity and connect with our brothers and showcase what our fraternity is all about. It has been a successful way to attract potential new members to our fraternity along with increasing involvement among brothers in our own fraternity.
Next, earlier in October, our brothers of Sigma Phi Epsilon partnered up with the sisters of Kappa Delta to create a float for the University of Toledo’s annual homecoming parade. They spent many hours pomping to put together a sophisticated float that embodied the Welcome to the Jungle theme of this year’s parade. We want to recognize our brother, Gavin Pokersnik, who took charge of organizing and managing the building of the float. He displayed immense determination and dedication to the crafting of the float while encouraging our brothers to get involved.
Finally, our Vice President of Programming, Shawn Montiero organized a haunted house event to raise money for the Sunshine community. Our brothers helped transform the on-campus house to a scary and thrilling attraction that had an amazing turnout. We want to also recognize Shawn and other brothers that contributed to this event’s success.
As we approach the end of the semester, we want to wish our brother good luck as they aim to finish the semester strong.
